WTCA Opening Speech
It is my great honor to present in the 2013 Beijing Conference International Friendly Chamber of Commerce. As one of the supporting organizations of 2013 BICCC, I, on behalf of the World Trade Centers Association, would like to extend my warm congratulation on the opening of the conference and welcome to all the colleagues, guests and friends around the world.
Starting from 2011, BICCC has developed into a major platform for international chambers of commerce and trade organizations to join hands and promote international economic and trade cooperation. Under the current economic downturn, international cooperation between business and trade facilitators, such as us, play more and more important role for economic recovery and regional development. As a leading global network of international trade facilities and services, the World Trade Centers Association is committed to working closely with each of the present Chambers of Commerce in a partnership and help businesses maximize their potentials.
After 43 years of development, the global WTCA network currently has about 330 members, covering more than 300 cities in nearly 100 countries. Many of them are owned and operated by major trade associations including WTC Beijing, which is owned and managed by CCPIT Beijing. Served by each of these World Trade Centers is a growing list of an estimated hundreds of thousands of businesses all in pursuit of new customers, sources of supply and opportunities for investment.
As part of our commitment to the regional development, we recently established Beijing Representative Office to serve members in China and the rest of Asia Pacific. In addition to Asia Pacific, we also started an office for Latin America and on the way for a presence in Europe. The regional offices of WTCA will serve as the liaison between members, regions and Headquarters. We believe the increasing regional presences will greatly enhance the connection of our global network and contribution to the business community. I would like to take this opportunity to thank CCPIT and WTC Beijing for their instrumental support for the establishment and operation of our Beijing Representative Office.
Finally, I wish every success of the conference and the efforts of fellow organizations. Together, we’ll help the world and achieve prosperity through trade and investment. Thank you.
