The 4th Beijing international Conference of Friendly Chambers of Commerce(BICCC)

Under the strategic deployment of construction of a world city with Chinese characteristics and building the international trade center in Beijing, with the theme of Cooperation, Development and Win-Win Outcome, Beijing International Conference of Friendly Chambers of Commerce discussed about new strategies and new approaches for economic globalization, aggregating resources from chambers of commerce, giving play to the joint force of the chambers of commerce, promoting economic and social sustainable development and internationalization operation of service enterprises with relevant international organizations, cooperation agencies and friendly chambers of commerce from countries and regions over the world, which gave full play to front desk function of Beijing International Chamber of Commerce in the international business activities.

The 1st BICCC was successfully held in Beijing from September 14th to 16th, 2011. It attracted International Chamber of Commerce, World Chambers Federation, and other international organizations; 45 trade associations from 25 countries and regions, including the United States, France, Germany, Brazil and Russia; and more than 500 heads of organizations and entrepreneurs.

Liu Qi, member of CPC Central Committee Political Bureau and secretary of Beijing Municipal Committee, met presidents of some overseas trade associations and heads of organizations. Wan Jifei, President of China Chamber of International Commerce, attended the opening ceremony and met the participating foreign guests. Chenghong, Vice Mayor of Beijing, Vice President of World Chambers Federation, President of Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Vice President of Paris Chamber of Commerce, attended the opening ceremony and gave a speech. With a variety of forms, including theme dialogue, roundtable, introduction and negotiation, meeting exhibition, and investigation and communication, the conference built a cooperation and exchange platform among chambers of commerce, international organizations, government agencies and enterprises. They discussed about how to play the new role of the chamber of commerce, and seek new cooperation and the new development between the chambers of commerce under the background of economic globalization and in the process of construction world city with Chinese characteristics in Beijing.

In the form of signing the Cooperation Agreement and Friendly Cooperation Agreement of the Trade Associations, the first Beijing International Conference of Friendly Chambers of Commerce maximized the expansion of cooperation channels of Beijing International Chamber of Commerce. First, Beijing Consensus on Cooperation was signed. Based on the starting point of strengthening cooperation, mutual benefit and win-win outcome, and working together to promote the sustainable development of the global economy, the representatives participating in the conference signed Beijing Consensus on Corporation, and reached broad consensus on seven aspects, including common development, sharing information, and rights and interests maintenance of chambers of commerce. Beijing Consensus on Corporation becomes the guideline for the trade associations of the countries and regions around the world attending the conference to strengthen communication and coordination, promote common development and promote the economic and social development of their own countries and regions; reflects the common vision of strengthening cooperation of trade associations of the countries and regions under the background of economic globalization; sets up the milestone for cooperation, mutual benefit and win-win outcome of trade associations; and lays a solid foundation for the internationalization development of chambers of commerce. Second, Friendly Cooperation Agreement of the Trade Associations was signed. In order to strengthen cooperation and exchange between Beijing International Chamber of Commerce and overseas trade associations, and guide international strategic resources to settle in Beijing, during the conference, Beijing International Chamber of Commerce signed long-term friendly cooperation agreement with 9 overseas trade associations, including US Houston Economic Cooperation Committee, Nord France Invest, Jordan Amman Chamber of Commerce, Norway Oslo Chamber of Commerce, CHICIT, UAE Business Services and Facility Management Club, Rumania Bucharest Chamber of Commerce, Geneva Chamber of Commerce, Hong Kong Chinese Industry&Commerce Association, which laid a solid foundation for Beijing International Chamber of Commerce to strengthen long-term friendly cooperation with overseas friendly chambers of commerce. Third, substantial cooperation between trade associations was promoted. Tang Kaiqia, President of Brazil Chinese Chamber of Commerce, said that in his speech Brazil Chinese Chamber of Commerce had signed friendship cooperation agreement with CHICIT, Peru Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Brazil Chinese General Chamber of Commerce; assisted Chinese and Brazilian companies to reach more than USD4 billion. They hoped to take this opportunity to cooperate with Beijing International Chamber of Commerce and promote mutually beneficial cooperation of both parties. President of Rumania Bucharest Chamber of Commerce said that Rumania Chamber of Commerce paid much attention to business opportunities in China. They hoped to strengthen cooperation with Beijing International Chamber of Commerce, facilitate Romania Economic and Trade Delegation’s visit of Chinese cities in October, such as Beijing and Shanghai, organize the China Investment Forum of Danube Chambers Federation, sign cooperation agreement with CCPIT and CCIPT Beijing Sub-Council, discuss about Romania’s establishment of branch office in Beijing, and promote the friendly cooperation between Romanian business circles and Chinese enterprises.
